What this Chicken Needs is a Good Beat

August 3, 2010

Well, it’s “staff summer outing” day at my office, and staff were asked to bring in “uncommon music with a good beat”. Although I tempered the uncommon-ness to ensure some continued semblance of job security, here is what I’m contributing to the day.

1. Rose Rouge – St. Germain

2. Moses – Elizabeth Fraser

3. Bleeker’s Ice-Cream – Natalie Merchant

4. Too Darn Hot – Ella Fitzgerald

5. Dog Days are Over – Florence + the Machine

6. Fury Eyes (7″ Remix) – The Creatures

7. Alejandro – Lady Gaga

8. Mexican Moon – Concrete Blonde

9. Hot Hot Hot!!! – The Cure

10. New England – Franz Nicolay and the Dresden Dolls

11. Ohh La La – Goldfrapp

12. Cocrovado (Knee Deep Remix) – Everything But the Girl

13. Summerhead – Cocteau Twins

14. Redondo Beach – Morrissey

15. Tightrope – Janelle Monae

16. Fel Del Av Garden – Movtis

17. Lisztomania – Phoenix

18. Blue Skies – Eva Cassidy

19. Trailer Music – Pizzicato Five

Bring on the BBQ….

There’s quite a few here I’m not familiar with – I’ll have to check ’em out. Thanks for the playlist!

Nice surprise to see Pizzicato Five on this list beyond the usual female vocalists & “alternative” evergreens! Fun list.
